Patent protected technology

An innovative fire protection technology, technical means and CSE-96 flame retardant water solutions, containing phosphorus – and nitrogen compounds, have been developed and its industrial approval has been achieved.

A plasma-aided technology for impregnation of porous media with flame retardants has been developed for wood, textile, and open pore foamed polymers. The plasma-aided impregnation may take place in industrial conditions or "on site" with the client, no matter where and how the object to be fire protected is located.

A system of plasma applicators has been created to produce cold technological plasma through barrier electrical discharge at atmospheric pressure. The plasma surface treatment of porous materials is made after opening the pores by washing, cleaning, grinding or sanding down.

After a plasma-chemical activation that influences substantially the capillary activity of the porous material and its ion activity and capacity, an impregnation with the CSE-96 flame retardant solutions is carried out within an open time of two to three hours.

The plasma aided technology is patent protected and may be applied independently of the types of the solutions containing fire-retardants.

For the plasma aided impregnation a range of correcting solutions has been developed that are added up to the basic CSE-96 solution and change its ion and capillary activity. Thus Interiorprotect Ltd., along with the Technical University of Sofia offers a new technological solution for fire-protection achieved through flame retardants that covers all porous materials based on polymers and wood used in the interior of large public and business buildings, concert halls, discothèques, restaurants and night clubs, theatres, TV and audio recording studios, the pavilions and stage equipment; the interior of the transportation means, such as planes, ships, motor vehicles, trains. It is intended for woven and non-woven fabrics, curtains, carpets made of synthetic or natural materials (cotton, linen, silk, wool), natural leather, foamed polymers and their products (Styrofoam, polyurethane), wood and wooden products, as paper, cardboard, boards of wood particles, MDF and products thereof.

The process of flame combustion is suppressed in the ignition phase, restricting the fire spreading by changing the reaction to fire (ignition capacity) of the flammable porous materials. Thus flammable materials are transformed into difficult to ignite materials that do not burn independently, do not spread and do not maintain the burning process.

Techniques such as our new technology can improve fire protection of draperies, wallpaper, carpets and wall coverings, silk, furniture, decorative woods, exterior/interior wood, bamboo, exterior/interior porous cellulose materials such as wood joinings, studs, wood shingles, paper, straw, synthetic fabrics, acoustical ceilings, indoor, open cell foams, airline fabrics, foam rubber, plastics, hay barriers, thatching for use in transport vehicles, office buildings, nursing, homes, apartments, hotels, restaurants, theatres, schools, churches, commercial applications as well as residential, where our technology and products can save lives and property.
