21.11.2022Dr. Eng. Lydia Kostova, manager at Interiorprotect Ltd., attended the European Fire Safety Week ( EUFSW 2022), November 14-18th 2022. The event was organised by the European Fire Safety Alliance and partners. It was a fruitful week with participants from the European Commission, fire safety professionals, researchers and business representatives. The main topics discussed:
- Fire safety of vulnerable people - elderly people, disordered people, people with a mental or physical disability, people with low social-economic status, people with a non-western migrant background and children;
- Carbon monoxide: Critical skills and awareness of heating professionals and first responders;
- Harmonisation of European Fire Statistics: outcomes and a follow-up of the EU FireStat project;
- Enforcing fire safety requirements in Europe: How to ensure stricter compliance?
- Recognizing Fire Safety in Revised EU Legislation. Significant EU frameworks, such as the General Products Safety Directive, the Construction Products Regulation and the Toys Directive.
