National Energy Globe Bulgaria goes to INTERIORPROTECT Ltd.
Energy-saving technology for halogen-free flame retardant impregnation of porous polymers
The Energy Globe is today’s most important environmental prize with 165 participating countries and annually more than 1000 project entries. It is given in recognition of outstanding performance in terms of energy efficiency, renewable energy and resource conservation worldwide. Being presented this award is a very high recognition, for ENERGY GLOBE is an internationally recognized trade mark for sustainability.
The national Energy Globe Award Bulgaria 2014 was awarded to the project of INTERIORPROTECT Ltd. Shortly summarized the project focuses on: A Bulgarian company has developed non-toxic and biodegradable flame retardants to replace conventional halogen-containing ones which are harmful to the environment.
As part of this year’s World Environment Day the project was also presented by Energy Globe as part of a global online campaign (www.energyglobe.info) to a wide audience. The campaign ran under the patronage of UNESCO and in cooperation with UNEP and received great recognition and a large echo.
